File Assassin – Head shot those stubborn files… in the head

2007-10-07_110640 FileAssassin Version Tested : 1.06
Compatibility : Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista

Description : “Assassinates” (or deletes) all and any file that refuses to be even touched by unlocking the file and its process, terminating the process that’s holding the file, and a few more advanced unlock modules and methods.

For those files you KNOW you don’t want anymore, but seem unable to delete, File Assassin really has the job under control. You select the target and the method’s you wish to try, and it will systematically go through each, increasing the level of force until it eliminates its target. Much like a personal hit man, except without the hefty price tag, and files get killed rather than people.

File Assassin is really easy to use and so intuitive that you can’t really go wrong, unless you choose the wrong target file.

File Assassin can also rip files out at the bare bones by doing it when windows starts. This is usually a foolproof method of deleting those seriously stubborn files. File Assassin’s true reason for building was really to do with removing spyware and some horrible viruses. Today though, any half decent coder will be fully aware of File Assassin, and may have set up a work around.

For those of you who follow portable apps, this one also fits the bill. Nice, simple, small, powerful at doing its job, even download a portable version, which is just standalone with no installer.

Conclusion : Another app that does exactly what it says on the tin. Assassinate those unwanted and troublesome files with ease. A perfect addition to the tech toolbox and your portable apps.
